It is located in the eastern region of Riyadh. With an area of 379,0000 km2, equivalent to 20% of Saudi Arabia's territory, the desert of the empty quarter covers about three quarters of the province, while the populated area and activities account for 18% of its total area. According to 2017 statistics, the provinces of the eastern region were led by 1220655 inhabitants.
