5/27/2024 3:42:21 PM

The Saudi record of Stem Cell Donors was launched in April 2011 under the auspices of King Abdullah Global Center for Health Research with the Ministry of the National Guar. The record aims to establish a database of people wishing to donate stem cells to patients most in need of the transplant. Stem cells are the essential cells in the human body and are responsible for producing blood components. Beneficiaries of stem cell transplantation are patients with incurable diseases such as leukemia, genetic and immune diseases. The Saudi record of Stem Cell Donors is the first of its kind in the Arab world and a major source of patients who have not managed to find a matching donor from their relatives. About 40% of cases for adult stem cell transplantation and60% for children require stem cell acquisition from non-relatives.

Vision:

To be the first record of its kind in the region that contains the largest database of blood stem cell donors

Message:

Overcoming the difficulties of donating stem blood cells to patients who have not found a donor from their relatives globally

Values and Principles:

Confidentiality: We are committed to maintaining privacy and confidentiality of information for patients and donors
